Gold Mercury International’s President, Nicolas De Santis Cuadra, along with members of the organisation’s delegation, was honoured by the Tibetan Parliament in Exile during its April 2025 session.

Nicolas De Santis Cuadra, President of Gold Mercury International, stood to personally thank the Sikyong (Prime Minister), Speaker of the House and Members of Parliament for honouring the organisation during the session.

DHARAMSALA, INDIA, 1st April 2025 - In a moment of recognition and shared values, Gold Mercury International, the London-based global governance think tank, was formally honoured by the Tibetan Parliament in Exile during its April 2025 session in Dharamsala, India, in the presence of Mr Penpa Tsering, the Sikyong (Prime Minister) and political leader of the Central Tibetan Administration and the Speaker of the House, Ven. Khempo Sonam Tenphel.

The Tibetan Parliament in Exile extended its gratitude to Nicolas De Santis Cuadra, President of Gold Mercury International, and the delegation accompanying him, for presenting His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama with the Gold Mercury Award 2025. The award recognises His Holiness's lifelong dedication to promoting global peace, compassion, nonviolence, and environmental consciousness.

RECOGNISING GOLD MERCURY’S CONTRIBUTIONS TO PEACE AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
In their formal address, members of the Tibetan Parliament praised Gold Mercury International’s enduring commitment to honouring global figures who advance humanity and sustainable progress. They welcomed the organisation’s presence in Dharamsala as a symbol of solidarity with the Tibetan cause and shared planetary values.

"His Holiness the Dalai Lama is a guiding light for peace, ethical leadership, and the protection of our planet," said Nicolas De Santis Cuadra. "It is an honour to present him with the Gold Mercury Award 2025 and to stand here today with the Tibetan Parliament in recognition of a shared vision for a better world."

The Gold Mercury delegation included distinguished University Professor and author Dr Renuka Singh, Director of the Tushita Mahayana Meditation Centre, acclaimed author and film producer Sergio Scapagnini, renowned jurist Ranjit Singh Walia and young filmaker Raffaele Rossi. The Parliamentary ceremony was organised by Ms. Youdon Aukatsang, a respected leader currently serving her fourth term as an elected member of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, representing the Dhotoe province.

THE TIBETAN PARLIAMENT-IN-EXILE
The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile is unicameral and headed by a Speaker and a Deputy Speaker. The creation of this democratically-elected body has been one of the major changes that His Holiness the Dalai Lama has brought about in his continuous effort to introduce a democratic system based on a unique blend of traditional values and modern norms.

The 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile has 45 members: 10 representatives from each of the three traditional provinces of Tibet i.e., U-Tsang, Dhotoe, and Dhomey; two from each of the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism and the pre-Buddhist Bon religion; and two representing each of the Tibetan communities in North America and Europe; plus one from  Australasia and Asia (excluding India, Nepal, and Bhutan).
